Mission Rivers District Training

Due to current ground conditions and the impending weather expected to impact our District this Saturday, we have made the decision to move District Training to Saturday, February 7.
This decision was made with the safety of our participants in mind, as well as the availability of our session instructors, staff, and host church.
We understand this change affects many of you, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and flexibility.
We are actively working through the adjustments this change requires and will communicate any session updates as soon as possible. We anticipate sending session confirmations by midweek next week.
At this time, we ask that everyone please submit an RSVP indicating whether you are able to attend on the new date of Saturday, February 7.
If you have any questions, please reach out by email to the Mission Rivers Lay Servant Director at MRDLayservants@vaumc.org
Date: Saturday, February 7
Time: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm
Location: Ebenezer UMC, Stafford – 161 Embrey Mill Rd, Stafford, VA 22554
Mission Rivers is excited to share information about our upcoming District Training Event! With more than thirty sessions offered, we hope you’ll join us for a day filled with learning, collaboration, and tools that will support and strengthen your ministry.
We are offering five training tracks:
- Nuts and Bolts: Essential skills for the daily operations of the church
- Missions and Outreach: Explore ways churches are engaging in mission locally and beyond
- Faith Formation: Deepen discipleship and explore opportunities for spiritual growth
- Foundations of Care: Sessions centered on pastoral care, support, and individual well-being
- Technology: Practical ways to use technology to enhance ministry
We encourage churches to attend as a team and spread out among sessions—bringing back new insights and ideas to benefit the whole congregation.
